Clare pushes up to 550V LED driver control IC to drive 100 series LED clusters
October 26, 2021
Clare has introduced the LED driver control IC "CPC9909N" with an input voltage range of +8 to 550V. It can control the driving from several series LED groups to more than 100 series LED groups. Of course, it is also possible to control the drive of the parallel group. Used for ordinary LED lighting fixtures, backlights for large-screen LCD monitors, and digital signage.
LED driver control IC with input voltage up to 550V
The new products are manufactured using BCDMOS (Bipolar/CMOS/DMOS) process technology developed by the company. The manufacturing process with a withstand voltage of +550V is adopted, and the bottom plate is SOI (Silicon On Insulator). Integrated voltage regulator circuit. The input voltage is stepped down by the circuit for use in the chip.
The new product uses a PFM (Pulse Frequency Modulation) control method that maintains a peak current at a certain level. The duty cycle can be set to a maximum of 50%. A gate drive circuit with a built-in power MOSFET. The power MOSFET needs to be external. The current supplied to the LED can be set with an external resistor. More than 90% conversion efficiency can be obtained with this control IC. Dimming is also available. Two control modes are supported. One is a linear way of inputting a DC voltage for control. The other is the PWM method of inputting the PWM signal for control.
The new product is available in an 8-terminal SOP package. The unit price for 10,000 batch purchases is $0.63. In addition, the "CPC9909NE" is available in an 8-terminal SOP package with improved thermal characteristics. The unit price for 10,000 batch purchases is $0.72.
